​Google is known as a popular search engine. Despite generating billions of dollars annually most people don't understand that Google is a high-tech company with numerous revenue streams. And even fewer people know about its money-making opportunities. One thing to emphasize is that none of these is a get-rich-quick-scheme, however, with consistency, hard-work, and acquiring a few skills you can make a decent income. Some people have reported making over $5000 per month through google. That can be enough for your rent and some other necessities! The two most popular platforms for earning an income through google are Google AdSense and Google AdMob. These are available in most countries. For purposes of this article, we will look into Google AdSense.

What is Google AdSense and how does it generate money?
In simple terms, Google AdSense is a partnership with google whereby you either allow google to place ads on your website or you manually place those ads and Google pays you for the number of views and clicks you get for those ads. As simple as that! However, you will need a website that people visit regularly to generate high impression volumes and clicks for those ads. Once you have a website with a valid domain, you may open a Google AdSense account. You will need to wait for Google to verify your site, and then you are good to go! It can take two to three days and in some rare instances up to two weeks (to get approved by Google).

Nowadays opening a website is pretty easy. You do not need to master intricate coding principles. All you need is a good website host such as Weebly, WordPress, Wix, etc. then you can drag and paste items to create a professional website in seconds! After that is done you will need to decide which content you will publish on your website. Is it going to be a blog about beauty or fashion? Is it going to be an online magazine? It’s all up to you!

How do I get people to visit my website?
People are attracted to quality content that adds value to their lives. It is thus advisable to choose a niche that will serve people's needs. For example, you can blog about hair-care, or teach people how to master maths or anything that will add value. However, education is not the only thing that adds value. If you can keep people entertained and help them forget their worries, that is also great value. So casual topics such as celebrity news (and healthy gossip) and eye candy are also important. Google pays well for these topics too. 

It is important to note that it takes patience to finally see your website traffic increasing. Promoting your content is also important too. This can be done by social media, word of mouth, SEO (improving tour website ranking on search engines) and other things too.
